Got this KeyError: 'AUTH_PBKDF2_CSK_SALT' while running oracledb.connect

I'm trying to run this code:

Oracle Database 12c Release 12.1.0.1.0 - 64bit Production

oracledb 1.2.2

I tried thick mode, but for my position it's a bit complicated, I have to ask for permission for any installation action. Is there any way to use thin mode only?

If the full traceback is needed, I tried to run PYO_DEBUG_PACKETS / PYO_DEBUG_PACKETS=1 in the command prompt but nothing seemed to happen. I'm pretty new to Python, so could anyone please give me detailed instructions? I appreciate every comment.

I asked to use thick mode and it works well. Problem solved.

I believe this issue has only been seen with 12.1.0.1 so you could ask if the DB is being upgraded, even if only to 12.1.0.2
